Strainers- High filtration capacity & low pressure drop

Strainers are very important part of the pipeline. Along with Pipeline and Valves it completes the flow circuit.

Strainers are used to filter out the impurities from the flowing liquid in the Pipeline. An unfiltered liquid will carry the impurities with it straight in to the equipments and will damage the same. This makes proper design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance of the online strainers very critical.

Type OF Strainers

“IVE” designed and manufacture Bucket Type & Duplex Strainers. While we also offer “STARTEK” “Y” type strainers manufactured by M/S. Star Engineers, India.

High filtration capacity & low pressure drop are the key features of all strainers offered by us.

Bucket type Strainers

The strainers are so called because the Filter element inside the strainer is in the shape of a Bucket.

“IVE” Bucket type Strainers are Designed & manufactured to give minimum pressure Drop across the line. The unique design of strainer element will filter 100% of the flowing media even if the filtering element is 50% Clogged. As the filtering element is designed 4 times the size of Lined area, it doesn’t require frequent cleaning, thus reducing the down time.

Duplex Type Strainers

This design has two strainers mounted in parallel.

“IVE” Design & manufacture Duplex Type strainers. These strainers are used in continuous Process Lines, where shut down to the service is not possible. In the event one strainer gets clogged, the flow of the media is shifted to another standby strainer by switching off the valve Position. 3 way Ball valves & Butterfly valves are used to divert the flow to the required Strainer.

“IVE” Bucket & Duplex Strainers are available in the range of 1 ½”(40 mm) to 14” (350 mm)

Y Type Strainer

“IVE” Offers “STARTEK” make “Y” type strainer. “Y” type strainers are named so because of their shape. Though the filtration capacity of “Y” type strainer is less than the Bucket type Strainer or “T” type strainers, it can filter the Basic course particles in the primary stage to protect the pipe line accessories such as Pumps, Valves, Flow meters etc which are installed in the Pipe line.

They can be used in Utility Lines, Process lines as well as Product lines Depending upon the requirement.

“STARTEK” “Y” strainers are available in the range of ½” (15mm) to 14” (350 mm)

“IVE” & “STARTEK” Strainers can be provided with single as well as double strainer elements. The strainer element can be of Brass, SS 304 or SS 316. Generally a Perforated sheet with wire mesh or required micron size is backed to it.
